Online Access FAQ

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta (GCA) is a bi-weekly (24 issues/yr) journal sponsored by the Geochemical Society and the The Meteoritical Society. GCA is published by Elsevier Science Ltd.

GCA welcomes unsolicited original scientific contributions within its scope of geochemistry and cosmochemistry. For information about editorial staff and policies, and information and guidelines regarding scientific contributions, please consult the GCA Editorial Website.

Members of the Geochemical Society may obtain a personal hardcopy subscription to GCA at a substantially reduced price. Rates for calendar year 2007 are 145 (US$) for professional members and 80 (US$) for student and senior members. Member-subscribers also receive free entitlement to GCA on-line (issues 1995 to date). Alternatively members may obtain online only entitlement (issues 1995 to date) at a rate of 80 US$ for professional members and 40 US$ for student and senior members.

Online Access FAQ

Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems (G-cubed) is an electronic journal that publishes research papers on the chemistry, physics, and biology of Earth and planetary processes. Interdisciplinary papers are especially encouraged. G-cubed seeks original scientific contributions pertaining to understanding the Earth as a system, including observational, experimental, and theoretical investigations of the solid Earth, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere at all spatial and temporal scales. G-cubed publishes several categories of papers including Technical Briefs and Data Briefs. The journal encourages proposals for theme issues, which can encompass the full range of article types. G-cubed strives to be at the cutting edge of electronic publishing by encouraging the innovative use of data analysis and visualization formats.

Elements

Elements is a bi-monthly (6 issues/yr) publication of the Geochemical Society and several associated societies. Every issue explores a theme of broad and current interest in the mineral and geochemical sciences as well as regular features like a calendar of events, short course announcements, highlights of groundbreaking papers, awards, conference reports, policy news, and news of the Societies.

Elements publishes invited peer-reviewed invited papers for its thematic collection of papers. Themes of interest can be proposed to the editors and the members of the Advisory Board who will review every proposal submitted.

All Geochemical Society members receive a subscription to Elements as part of their membership. If you have questions regarding your subscription, please contact the GS Business Office.

Special Publications

The Geochemical Society periodically publishes a Special Publications Series. These are scientifically significant collections of related, original papers that honor renowned geochemists. The contributions appearing in these volumes are subjected to rigorous peer review supervised by the volume editors. The printing and binding of the volumes are carried out under the highest standards of quality, but they are offered for sale at very reasonable prices.

To order, please download an order form (.pdf), and mail or fax it to the GS Business Office.

Volumes in this series are:

  1. Magmatic Processes: Physicochemical Principles. A Volume in Honor of Hutten S. Yoder, Jr. (1987)
  2. Fluid-Mineral Interactions: A Tribute to H.P. Eugster (1990)
  3. Stable Isotope Geochemistry: A Tribute to Samuel Epstein (1991)
  4. Victor Moritz Goldschmidt: Father of Modern Geochemistry (1992)
  5. Mineral Spectroscopy: A Tribute to Roger G. Burns (1996)
  6. Mantle Petrology: Field Observations and High-Pressure Experimentation: A Tribute to Francis R. (Joe) Boyd (1999)

RIMG 61

The enormously successful series is now published jointly by the Mineralogical Society of America and The Geochemical Society. Volumes 1-38 were published as "Reviews in Mineralogy" (ISSN 0275-0279). Volumes 1-6 originally appeared as "Short Course Notes" (no ISSN). The name was changed to "Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry" (RiMG) (ISSN 1529-6466) starting with Volume 39. Paul Ribbe was sole editor for volumes 1-41. He was joined by Jodi J. Rosso as series editor for volumes 42-53 in the RiMG series submitted through the Geochemistry Society. With his retirement, Jodi Rosso is now the sole editor for the series.
